52 Weeks of Christopher - Week 8

Jonathan decided Christopher needed a mohawk after bath the other night. I grabbed my camera and thought this would be the perfect pic for this week. Enjoy!

Choking Hazard? Nah......

Christopher had pear today for lunch....self fed. He has done this before but lately has gone on a little bit of a food strike. The past 2 days have been much better and he seems to be his usual hungry self.

Today he decided to put the whole slice of pear in his mouth at once. Jonathan and I were both there watching him. He had us cracking up and wouldn't let us get it out.

Balance

So, we (by we I mean me with Jonathan going to look at the blog when I remind him that Ive posted something cute about Christopher) started this blog as an online journal of our lives.

Its quickly becoming a blog about Christopher. While he is a BIG part of our lives, there are other things that happen. So, in an effort to be more balanced I am going to try to do one NON-Christopher post for every 2 about him. Not total balance, but a least a better balance. Who knows, our two fur-sons might even get a mention a time or two. Although, not looking good for Cooper these days. He thinks all Christopher's toys are the perfect size to put in his mouth and just walk around with....bad dog!

So, new news with the adults in our family. We planned our first vacation in almost 2 years. YEAH! We are going on a cruise in May with the Carroll's and couldn't be more excited. We are leaving Christopher in the capable hands of his grand-people (insert your name here) and are super excited about having 7 days of fun "us" time. Ask me how I feel about it the closer we get and I'm sure the guilt will set in....But for now, just SUPER excitement.

Best news of all, Jonathan got a promotion at work and is working in a whole new department, a new building and a new part of Pepsi Co. Although I don't know his title (not that it matters) he has made the move from the accounting side of things to the finance side. It makes his MBA much more valuable and he is now in a planning and forecasting role. He just started this week and is learning alot. I'm so proud of him and what he does for our little family. We truly are blessed to have such a great husband and daddy.

Okay, so that's the catch up with the big people of the family. Now, I see why we don't make the news posts. Christopher has so much more going on that is newsworthy and is cuter too...no offence honey !

Trip to Arkansas!

A week ago Christopher and I went to Fayetteville for 6 days to spend some time with mom and Krissy and Justin. We had planned to go up on Tuesday but the ice storm beat us. Although I was bummed that we would have to push back our trip, I was also glad we didn't get stuck there with an infant and no heat or electricity. C and I headed up on Friday when Krissy and Justin finally got power late Thursday night.

We had a great trip spending time with family, visiting old friends and a fun reunion with some special friends from high school on a day trip to Branson. We also spent some time cleaning up all the tree limbs and debris from the storm.... all in all it was a great trip. Here are some of the pictures from our trip.
When we first got to Fayetteville we went to mom's house. The ice had done some major damage and she lost one of the huge beautiful oak trees out front. In fact, she lost part of another one too. Anyway, besides it being SUPER cold, the chainsaws were really loud and C didn't like them at all. He pretty much stayed glued to mom the entire time we were there...pretty cute!

This is some of the debris they started to clear. I thought it wouldn't turn out very well in pictures, but you can see the size of the woodpile compared to my trailblazer.

One of the guys about 3 stories up:

This is a neighbors tree:

It was hard to walk around with all the downed power lines and trees in the road. This is a house around the corner.

This is one of the streets next to moms.

This is the big tree in the back of Krissy and Justin's backyard. The top of the tree was totally clipped and the rest of the branches were so damaged by the weight of the ice that the tree was a loss. So sad.

A neighbor across the street:

Christopher loved exploring around Krissy's and Justin's house:

One night after dinner and bath they read him 4 books, I'm amazed he lasted through them all, he was one pooped kiddo:

On February 2nd Christopher turned 9 months old. I captured the day (at least the meals) in pictures. He was so happy in the morning with his toast!

My friend Lance is a pedi and he (much to the delight of my mom) thought I should cut back on how often C gets cheese. But he loves it so much that he had to have a little on such a special day. Note what happens when we tried to take it away....

It was a great trip and although we really missed our own beds and daddy, I am looking forward to going back often!! Thanks to all we visited for some great memories.

52 weeks of Christopher - Week 5 and 6

Bummer! I hate getting behind and I've done it again. The good news is that I already have week 7 ready to go but still......okay, so we've been busy. Christopher and I were in Fayetteville for 6 days last week and had a BLAST being with Mom and the Jackson's Despite the aftermath of the ice storm (pics to come), mom having no heat for 1/2 our trip and some COLD temps we had a great time.

I have several shots to share but I will add those in another post later. For now, Week 5. Although Christopher has been pulling up in his crib for weeks I haven't thought to capture his look when I come in to get him from nap time. So, this day, I grabbed my camera and was ready for the joyful greeting I love. Here it is. And no, I haven't begun to put dresses on him....yet. Its his sleep sack.

Last week I couldn't help but capture this happy boy. Although my son looks nothing like me and all daddy he does have my love of cheese. I had been cutting back how often he is allowed to have it (thanks mom and Lance) but this was a very special day....NINE MONTHS OLD! So, let him eat cheese. I think he was in cheese heaven! Week 6:
